This machine is constructed in two parts, the outer rotating cylinder or pan and the inclosed twin rotating heavy rollers. The rollers are supported by a rigid arm that produces the downward compression force. The rotation of the pan causes the rollers to rotate at a different speed and this results in the pulverisation and mixing of the materials to be crushed.
The pan also has scrapers that direct the material into the path of the rollers during processing and also discharge the material effectively once the scuppers are opened.
